Why we're building Koobiba

As parents, we want our kids to be able to listen, dance, relax, learn, and be entertained, without being exposed to a screen. That's why we're building Koobiba - to give parents like us, an easy way to share with their kids, the music or stories they love, without unnecessary access to smart phones.

No. Koobiba is planned to come with an hour of stories, music and white noise, ready to play.

The Koobiba Library, curated stories, music, routines and musical play for the early years, is in development. Its titles, languages and dates are not announced yet, so we can't promise what will be ready at launch, and some of it is planned as optional paid packages that are never needed to use Koobiba.

Your own audio is optional: record your voice, let family record through a link, or add MP3s you already own. Adding your own never costs anything.

No. Koobiba has no subscription and no ongoing fees. The device and everyday play work with no account, no login and no internet. A free Koobiba account is needed only for connected features: claiming your device, recording links for family, and the optional content catalogue.

We do plan to offer optional members-only packages of exclusive Koobiba content in the future, but these will always be completely opt-in and never required to use your device.
Koobiba plays your MP3s very well, and that is one of many things it does. Parents get an app that makes managing what is on the device simple, a recording link so loved ones can record a story from anywhere and have it land on the device straight away, and an optional, carefully curated catalogue of stories and music for the age. The child gets all of it through three big buttons and no screen.
