Koobiba vs Yoto
Yoto takes your own audio with nothing further to buy — a blank card comes in the box, and the Green Button holds twenty titles without one — but a child chooses by inserting a card or browsing a display, and everything reaches the player over the internet on a family account. Koobiba is chosen by pressing one of three buttons, and the audio arrives from your phone without an internet connection.
Consider Yoto if your child is three or older and you want a player on sale now, with a catalogue of over 1,000 titles and cards to choose them by.
* What it costs to replace five lost cards, figurines or chips at the vendor's retail price. Where the audio comes back without paying again, the table says "Content retained": Yoto, for example, keeps a lost card's title in your app and re-links it to a blank card. Koobiba has nothing physical per story, so nothing to replace.
** Price is what the vendor charges for the cheapest way to own the player, at list price, in its own currency. Some vendors sell the player alone; others sell it only in a set, and the note under the price says what the set includes.
