Your Jooki stopped. What now?

Jooki is gone: its site is now a two-line notice, and the support page it points owners to does not load. Its stories lived on somebody else's server, which is why they went when the company did. Koobiba keeps everything on the device, and adds an app, a recording link for family and a catalogue on top — none of which the device needs in order to play.

What happened

Jooki is no longer sold. The company's website has been replaced, on every page, by a two-line notice: Jooki is no longer available for sale, and existing owners are pointed at an archived support page. No date and no reason are given anywhere on the site.

What still works

We could not confirm what still works, and that is the problem. The archived support page the notice points to does not load at all. Nothing on the site says whether the app, the Spotify link or the cloud sync a Jooki depends on are still running — which is the position you are in when the stories live on somebody else's server rather than on the device in your child's hands.
